Visiting the World’s Largest Port

So, Mark (our programme manager) decided to take us on a trip to the world’s largest port, the Port of Shanghai. And although I am not a fan of cargo, logistics, import and export (although I hold some basic interest in it), I must admit: it was quite impressive! It comprises a deep-see port and a river-port, is the world’s busiest container port, operates 24 hours, holds housing for workers (see pictures), and is municipality with province status in China!

After driving down the Donghai Bridge (32.5km/22miles long!!) we finally got to the port and- due to the sad fact that foreigners aren’t actually permitted to enter the cargo area- had a walk alongside it. Enjoy the pictures!
